Most likely a replica, but there is a huge car museum nearby and it was sporting antique plates, so you never know. Anyone know how to tell the difference? I can see it has the knock off wheels, and they didn't look like fakes.

Shot of the rear, for those that are into that kind of thing:

It's a Superformance Coupe. The real car had fixed-in-place windows with small slot openings and a riveted rear windscreen. Plus those wheels look like 18" or 20" types.

I figured it was Superformance or Factory Five and after looking up Superformance it is an exact match. Too bad, would have been cool to see a real one. Either way it must be blast to drive.

Yeah, even a replica of a Daytona Coupe must be fun as hell to drive.

The Factory Five or Superperformance kit car of this is basically my #1 dream car.

"Most likely a replica"

Count on it. If you take the "All Daytona Coupes are replicas" stand, you will be right 99% of the time.

Looks like this one was the Superformance kit. Very well done

True, and the 1% of the time you are wrong will still be amazing. Because you saw a real Daytona Coupe in the wild.

Wheels are too big. Replica.

That being said, I don't know why everyone gives shit to Shelby replicas. They're amazing to drive.

That moment happend to me a few weeks ago. Jagvar posted photos of a Daytona Coupe, and the DC auto show, and I dismissed it as fake.

Then I realized it was the prototype ex-Phil Spector missing CSX2287 on display.

I almost ran out the door to go downtown and see it.

I've never seen a real Daytona Coupe, but I have seen the 1966 24 hrs of Daytona winning GT40 in person 2 years ago:

Gotta be a replica.... On a related note, there's a real one at the Philly Auto Show this week - first one produced, completely unrestored.

Goddamn, that is awesome. This is probably the first time I've ever said this, but I wish I was in Philly right now!
And yeah mine was definitely a replica. We figured it was the Superformance one.

I can see it has the knock off wheels, and they didn't look like fakes.

You can get pin drive wheels pretty easily, FYI. They're really popular on Cobra replicas, so that's not much of an identifier.

Definitely a replica. The big wheels are a dead giveaway.
